TEDxOdak Koleji Youth: Bold Beginnings

We are proud to announce the very first TEDx event in Silivri — TEDxOdak Koleji Youth — a groundbreaking moment for our community and a celebration of young voices, bold ideas, and visionary thinking. TEDx is a global initiative that brings the spirit of TED to local communities through independently organized events. It’s a platform where ideas worth spreading are shared in powerful, short talks that inspire, challenge, and ignite change.
This inaugural TEDx event marks a milestone for Silivri, offering our students a chance to step onto a global stage and share their perspectives with the world. The event will be conducted primarily in English, reflecting our commitment to international communication and preparing our youth for global opportunities. By encouraging English-language expression, we empower students to connect across borders, articulate their ideas with confidence, and shine as ambassadors of Silivri’s creativity and potential.

Theme: BOLD BEGINNINGS

Our theme, Bold Beginnings, invites students to explore the power of starting — the courage it takes to begin something new, the spark behind a fresh idea, and the journey that unfolds from a single moment of inspiration. Whether it’s a personal transformation, a social initiative, a scientific discovery, or a creative breakthrough, every bold beginning carries the potential to shape the future.
We encourage teenagers to reflect on their own experiences and passions. Possible topics might include:
• Overcoming fear and taking the first step
• Launching a project or movement that matters
• Starting again after failure or change
• Exploring identity, purpose, and personal growth
• Innovating in science, technology, art, or education
• Imagining new solutions for community or global challenges
This is a space for authentic stories, visionary ideas, and the kind of thinking that dares to ask: What if?

Calling All Speakers

Are you ready to share your idea with the world?

We are now accepting speaker applications for TEDxOdak Koleji Youth. If you are a student with a bold idea, a powerful story, or a unique perspective that fits our theme, we invite you to apply. This is your opportunity to inspire others, challenge assumptions, and be part of a global movement of changemakers.

Each speaker will have up to 8 minutes to present their idea in a TED-style talk. Talks must be original, well-prepared, and delivered in English. No promotional content, political endorsements, or religious sermons are allowed — this is a space for ideas, not agendas. Visuals may be used, but should support the message, not distract from it.

Selected speakers will receive coaching and support to help them craft and deliver their talk with clarity, confidence, and impact.
